01 / The idea

Your next meal
deserves a second opinion.

Finding a place to eat shouldn’t mean figuring out who paid for the recommendation.

DishPanel is being built for people who care about what’s on the plate. We’ll bring together trusted independent reviews, from thoughtful food bloggers to established publications, with links back to the people behind them.

Different voices. A clearer picture. And a firm line between editorial opinion and commercial influence.

02 / How it will work

Two perspectives.
One appetite for honesty.

We’ll keep the collective view and our own opinion clearly separate. Here’s what you can expect at launch.

The collective view

Trusted Review Score

An aggregate of eligible, independent restaurant reviews. A useful starting point, with the original sources there for you to explore.

Independent voices, brought together
Our own point of view

DishPanel Score

Our own unpaid, independent editorial rating, when we’ve reviewed a restaurant ourselves. Always identified as our opinion.

Our review, on our own terms

We’re still setting the table. Review sources and the scoring methodology will be published before scores go live.

01

Find independent voices

A newspaper or a food blog: the standard is independence, not the size of the audience.

02

Check the review

Paid, sponsored or gifted promotional coverage won’t qualify. Unclear independence? It stays out until verified.

03

Show the source

We’ll link to the original reviews, so you can read beyond a score and decide for yourself.

03 / The editorial promise

Our scores
are never
for sale.

No paid influence. No exceptions.

Independence is the entry requirement.

Only trusted, unpaid, independent reviews may contribute to the aggregate. Paid placements, sponsored reviews, advertorials and gifted promotional coverage are excluded.

Our own reviews answer to the reader.

DishPanel’s reviews are unpaid and independent. Restaurants cannot buy a review, a better rating, the removal of a negative score or influence over our opinion.

Commercial content stays separate.

If we offer advertising or sponsorships in the future, they will be clearly labelled. They will never influence either score or our editorial judgment.

This principle will not change.DishPanel.

A few things to know

Before we
dig in.

Where are you launching?

Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley, Malaysia. We’re starting with the places around us and taking the time to build a considered collection of independent reviews.

What makes a review “trusted”?

Our standard is independence and editorial honesty, whether a reviewer writes for a major publication or their own food blog. We’ll assess the source and the individual review for paid, sponsored or gifted promotional influence. If independence is unclear, the review won’t contribute to a score until verified.

“Trusted” reflects our editorial assessment; it isn’t a claim that any reviewer is free of personal taste or bias.

Can I leave a rating or book a table?

DishPanel’s first release will focus on independent review aggregation and our own editorial ratings. There will be no user accounts, consumer reviews, reservations, comments or social features.

Can a restaurant pay for a better score?

No. Neither the Trusted Review Score nor the DishPanel Score can be bought or influenced by payment. Any future commercial content will be clearly labelled and kept separate from scoring.

When can I browse the reviews?

We’re preparing the first collection. There’s no announced launch date yet. This page introduces the idea and the standards we’re committing to; restaurant reviews and scores aren’t live yet.

Good taste starts with a conversation
